Fuel scarcity: Oyo NSCDC warns petrol stations against fuel hoarding

Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mr. John Oyedokun Adewoye has warned petroleum marketers in the state against hoarding of fuel in the state.

Adewoye in a statement at the weekend during the bi annual interactive session organised for officers and men of the command and made available to DAILY POST on Monday by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Oluwole Olusegun, noted that some petrol stations had started hoarding the product to create artificial scarcity, thereby inflicting unnecessary pains on the masses and taking undue advantage of the public, especially during this Yuletide.

Adewoye while condemning this act added that erring petrol station would be made to face the full wrath of law, as he would not condone any act that bring untold hardship to the public across the state.

He said, “All the petrol stations owners in the state are hereby implored to monitor their staff very well, especially the attendants, as the command would not entertain any excuse for any sharp practice arising from the sales of the product”.

He said the command has ordered the deployment of more officers to all the nook and cranny of the state to monitor the activities of the petroleum products marketers and to curb crime in the state.

He implored members of the public to always volunteer information to Oyo NSCDC on 09055533301 and 09055533303 as any information given will be treated confidential in order to curb crime and criminality in the state during the festive period.
