Nigerians desperately seeking employment have been warned by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to be wary of the activities of fraudsters as the corps is not embarking on any recruitment exercise at the moment.
The corps sounded this warning on its Facebook accout where it posted: “Our attention has been drawn to several fraudulent Facebook accounts in the name of the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR, mni, announcing recruitment into the FRSC and demanding money from applicants.
“This is to warn the public that the FRSC is not currently carrying out any recruitment exercise and the Corps does not demand money from applicants for them to be recruited into the Corps.
“Whenever the Corps is undertaking any recruitment, it is formally announced in the public media including this particular authentic platform, the The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Facebook page and the applicants directed to FRSC formations nationwide to pick recruitment forms. We do not ask anybody to pay any money online or give any telephone number and private account numbers for payment of recruitment fees. We are aware that some crooks even demand money for “waiver of training after recruitment”, that the applicants after paying certain amount is asked to start work immediately, as they won’t have to go for training. This is not our practice please.”
The corps asserted that its operatives are already in the process of tracking down those engaged in the scam, adding that other security agencies are also on the trail of the criminals behind the scam.
