No fewer than 98 girls have reported sexual abuse by French soldiers and United Nations, UN, peacekeepers in Central African Republic, CAR.
According to the Code Blue campaign, the girls in CAR reported that they were sexually abused by French soldiers and UN peacekeepers.
Among the abused girls, three confessed to UN staff that they were tied up by a French Military Commander in 2014, undressed, and forced to have sex with a dog.
Most of the allegations relate to French, Burundian and Gabonese contingents and are the latest in a disturbing pattern of sexual abuse that has spanned across peacekeeping missions.
