Four teenage boys allegedly rape girl to coma in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State police command has declared four secondary school students wanted for allegedly gang raping a 16-year-old girl to coma.

The victim, identified as Edward Gladys is reportedly battling for survival after being gang raped by four boys: Ofobuike Alo, Jeremiah Odah, Obumnaeme and Dick Alo, of Galaxy Foundation Secondary School, Ndiofoke Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area, LGA, of the state, who allegedly invaded her house whilst her parents were away and immediately demanded for sex but she refused.

The incident which reports say occurred at Okpoitumo Community in the said LGA of the state, saw the four boys, two of them brothers, beating up Gladys and forcefully taking turns to rape her until she lost consciousness.

After raping her, the students were said to have carried the unconscious girl from her house and dumped her in a bush where she was found two days later by a search party reportedly organized by the community.

It was gathered that she is currently battling for her life in an unnamed private hospital.

According to medical report conducted on the girl, she is believed to have sustained serious internal injuries in her body including her private parts following the assault.

As the story goes, the matter was reported to the Ebonyi State Family Law Center while the boys have since disappeared from their hostels and the community.
