The Joint Task Force, Operation Restore Order has said that, its men in Geidam local government area of Yobe state has gunned down Four suspected Islamic Militants , Boko Haram.
JTF said the sect members were killed last night during a shootout with soldiers, who met them during their operation in the North Eastern town of Geidam, 180 kilometres away from Damaturu, the Yobe state Capital.
In an e-mail statement made available to DailyPost in Damaturu, today, Wednesday, spokesman of the Joint Task Force in Yobe state, Lieutenant Eli Lazarus confirmed the incident.
The statement said, “the incident occurred yesterday around 5 PM when suspected terrorists attacked JTF location in Geidam town. The attack was repelled by the JTF and four of the gunmen lost their lives during an exchange of gun fire.” Lazarus said.
Lazarus revealed that”three AK47 rifles, five rifles magazines and seventy two rounds of 7.62 mm ammunitions were recovered from the insurgents.”
The Spokesman had assured all law abiding and peace loving people of the state of JTF’s unflinching commitment to the full restoration of peace and security and the maintenance of law and order in the state.
