Residents of Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital said repeated gunshots were heard Sunday morning in Alakyo village.
Alakyo is the same village where about 90 security operatives were killed last year by the Ombatse militia group.
A village source disclosed that five people were killed and their remains deposited at the Specialist Hospital Lafia, along Shendam Road.
Many women and children reportedly trekked to Nasarawa Eggon, about 30 kilometres from Lafia.
Security operatives were also seen parading the streets of Lafia, dispersing protesting youths.
