Former Reps member, Damian Ozurumba, others return to PDP in Abia

The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Friday, formally received into its fold, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Damian Ozurumba who recently dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA to PDP.

Others received into the party include two former commissioners in the state, Chief Emmanuel Ibegbulam and Uche Enyioko, Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu, Hon. Sylvanus Nwaji, Honorable Kelechi Nwamkpa, Chief Udo Obike, Sunny Okor, Honourable Endy Enyioko and Chief Johnny Ukpabi.

Speaking at the party’s secretariats in Umuahia, the State capital, while receiving them, PDP chairman in the State, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, assured the returnees that every member of the party, irrespective of circumstances, will be accorded a sense of belonging.

The Chairman stated emphatically that there would not be any impunity and imposition in the party, pointing out that the political aspiration of any Party member would only be determined by the grassroots.

He said, “We will not condone imposition in our party. Imposition is a thing of the past now in our party. And again, PDP in the state is determined to ensure every member is given a level playing ground”.

“So, I want to also use this opportunity to assure you all that PDP is a party that will not tolerate any form of impunity. We will make sure that political ambition of every PDP member is determined by the people at the grassroot”.

Responding on behalf of other PDP returnees, a former member of the National Assembly, Damian Ozurumba, expressed happiness and gratitude that the State leadership considered it necessary and useful to formally invite them for formal readmission and reintegration into the party.

He pledged their total loyalty to the leadership of the Party and their willingness to advance the interest of the party.

“I must sincerely on behalf of other PDP returnees thank the state leadership of PDP for considering it important to accept us back in the party”.

“We will work hard to ensure PDP win 2019 election in the state. And on behalf my fellow returnees, we pledge our loyalty to the leadership of our great party,PDP in the state and promised to work for the interest of the party”.

Ozurumba urged the State Chairman of the Party to expand the good work his Committee has begun by arranging meetings with other returnees who are yet to have direct interface with the party.
