The death has been announced of former Minister of Education, Dr Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu.
The retired Ebonyi State-born academic, who served as Education Minister between July 26, 2007 – December 17, 2008, died at the age of 63 at an Israeli hospital.
The deceased’s younger brother, Festus Aja-Nwachukwu, who confirmed the death while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, said his elder brother died on Nov. 17.
He said the deceased who served under the late Umaru Yar’Adua, had been receiving treatment at an Israeli hospital for about four weeks before passing on.
He said that details of the burial arrangement would be made public in due course.
