Former Delsu staff, David Erhirhie narrates how he got into prison over murder

A former Clerical Officer in the College of Medicine, Delta State University, Abraka, Mr. David Erhirhie is in prison over the alleged murder of one Nonso Chineye,DAILY POST can exclusively report.

Erhirhie who is now the leader of the Glorious Prison Band, told DAILY POST that he borrowed eighty thousand from the deceased, Nonso Chineye with

the intention to pay back.

Erhirhie stated that Nonso Chineye later came demanding for one

hundred and fifty thousand naira from him as against the eighty thousand naira.

The thirty-one-year old prisoner also stated that in order to avoid trouble, he agreed to pay, but could not meet up with the payment due to the time frame given to him by the deceased, noting that,”She gave me just three months to pay back the money and I could not.”

The development according to him resulted into a serious fight between him and Nonso Chineye and in the process, he stabbed her with a bottle.

Erhirhie who has been in prison since 2009 was sentenced to death by hanging by a Delta State High Court,Orerokpe, presided over by Justice Alfred Ohwo.

Erhirhie who is from Ewherhe-Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area said, “I have not taken any appeal.”
