Former Chelsea chief warns United against appointing Mourinho

Former Chelsea chief, Frank Arnesen has told Manchester United to think twice before embarking on the decision to appointing former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho as the club’s manager.

Arnesen, who worked alongside Mourinho during his spell as Blues sporting director, expressed fear over the Portuguese’s methods and added that United would be throwing away club’s ideology if they give him the nod.

He told Daily star that, “Mourinho is very demanding and sometimes the players can’t take it.

“He made some drastic changes [at Chelsea] and it cost him.

“What would happen if they replaced Van Gaal with Mourinho? The philosophy of Manchester United will go out of the window.

“But maybe they are that keen to have success…”
