Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange was on Friday suspended from the Assembly for a period of six months.
DAILY POST reports that the House also directed him to handover all official property of the House to the Clerk within 24 hours.
Ikyange was during the week sacked by the House which replaced him with Titus Uba representing Kyaan State Constituency as new Speaker of the House.
The House hinged their reason for axeing the former leadership on high-handedness and other sundry offences.
Moves by some persons to reinstate the sacked Speaker failed as security personnel took over the Assembly complex on Friday, thus preventing the lawmakers from gaining entrance.
Ikyange had in a smart move to escape impeachment adjourned the plenary till August but failed.
Meanwhile, the Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Adam Onum, has given an order restraining Ikyange from parading himself as the Speaker of the House.
Justice Onum, Friday, granted an ex parte order of interim injunction restraining the impeached speaker.
