Former Bauchi Governor, Yuguda dumps GPN for APC

Former governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has dumped Green party of Nigeria, GPN, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Bauchi state GPN chairman, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Bura exclusively revealed this to DAILY POST in an interview.

He said, Yuguda had dumped the party to further pursue his political career in APC.

” I can authoritatively confirm to you that former governor, Yuguda has left for APC, even though other GPN supporters followed him to APC, people like me and other executives are still in GPN and as I’m speaking to you on the phone, I am heading to Enugu state to attend the party’s NEC meeting,” said Bura.

It could be recalled that Yuguda was said to have been under the EFCC searchlight as his house was recently sealed by the anti-graft agency.

Besides, governor Mohammed Abubakar had initially boasted that his administration will follow constitutional means to recover funds carted away by his predecessor.

Bura stressed that the former governor’s defection was coming at a time he lost the senatorial slot to the APC in the just concluded bye-election in Bauchi State.

“Yuguda has confirmed to his supporters in GPN of his exit to APC, saying the doors are opened for those interested to do so to enable them contest in other platforms,” Sani confirm.
