Nigeria women’s U-17 team have been eliminated from the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Jordan, after they were hammered 3-0 by DPR Korea in their last Group C match on Saturday.

Ri Hae Yon netted a hat-trick for Korea, as they overpowered the Bala Nikyu’s team, to finish as winners of the group.

The Flamingoes crashed out from the tournament, without scoring a single goal.

They lost their first game 1-0 to Brazil and drew 0-0 with England in their second fixture.

This is the second time Nigeria will fail to progress from the group stage, after also falling at the first hurdle in New Zealand in 2008.

In the other Group C clash, England fought back from a goal down to defeat Brazil 2-1 and qualify alongside Korea.
