Five unidentified persons were on Thursday allegedly killed during a fight over a piece of land in Ikom Local Government of Cross River State.
The disagreement which reportedly resulted to mayhem early Thursday was between some individuals in Alasi community in the local Government over a piece of land.
According to an eyewitness, the fight emanated from an angry farmer and his kinsmen who went to the land after the Local Government had asked them to stay off the land.
Residents are reported fleeing the the local government over fear of reprisal attacks.
The state police commissioner, Jimoh Ozo-Obeh who confirmed the report stated that the police was taking all measures to restore peace and order in the area.
