At least, five persons have lost their lives following the outbreak of fresh crisis on the Mambila Plateau in Sardauna Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the crisis started at Ngoruje and spread to Jakarta village.
An eyewitness told Punch that several houses and other valuables were set ablaze by the warring tribes.
The eyewitness blamed the crisis on a land dispute between the two tribes.
Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba, ASP. David Misal, while confirming the incident said the communal clash erupted on Thursday evening between the Fulani and Mambilla ethnic group.
“The clash happened yesterday (Thursday) evening between Fulani and Mambilla people and five persons were killed from both sides,” he said.
He, however, said the situation has been brought under control as the command has deployed enough men in the area.
