Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has scheduled an emergency board meeting for Wednesday to discuss the future of manager, Jose Mourinho.
The Russian billionaire will sit with his management team — Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo — to decide if it is time for the Portuguese to be sacked.
When Mourinho returned to the club in 2013, the board voted 3-2 in his favour.
However, if they decide to get rid of Mourinho, Abramovich will be forced to pay him more than £40million, as he would have to buy out his four-year, £250,000-a-week deal.
The former Real Madrid manager signed a new deal with the Blues, after he led them to Premier League glory in May, but no settlement clause was included in the contract.
Abramovich has continued to back Mourinho despite the miserable run of results, but after a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday, he has called for the meeting.
If he indeed sacks Mourinho, it will be the second time. In September 2007, he paid the Portuguese and his coaching staff £16m to leave.
