Five people have been arrested in connection with last Friday’s robbery attack in Gidan Maidawa village of Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The state Deputy Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Dutse, said state government had taken measures to end cases of armed robbery in the state.
He said the state government in collaboration with the security agencies were working day and night to ensure adequate security of lives and properties of the citizens in the state.
The Deputy Governor, who is also the acting governor, denounced the allegation that the state government was exhibiting lackadaisical attitude in tackling the insecurity challenges, described the allegation as baseless.
DAILY POST had reported that two different incidents that the gang of suspected armed robbers numbering about 20 stormed two villages Garin Mai-dawa under Dutse Local Government killing one Alhaji Mohammed and nine people including children sustained gunshot wound.
Also another incident where a 65-year-old Nuhu Idris Chief Imam of Kwara Village, Balagun ward in Kiyawa Local Government was killed after collecting over 400,000 from him.
