Fire guts FAAN fuel dump at Lagos airport

There was a fire outbreak at the fuel dump owned and managed by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN. The incident occurred close to FAAN‘s corporate headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday.

DailyPost gathered that the fire started at about 10:40 a.m, causing panic around the area. Report says nobody died at the process and no one was equally affected by the inferno before it was finally put off by firemen from FAAN.

Investigations revealed that the fire broke out while work was going on to fix the dump.

It was also gathered that the fire that raged for about 10 minutes, broke out, when some workers were working at the dump site.

Reacting to the incident, the General Manager, Corporate Communications of FAAN, Yakubu Dati, who was at the scene, said the incident will be investigated as officers hurriedly put out the fire to prevent further spread.
