Super Falcons of Nigeria put in an impressive display, as they came from behind twice to draw 3-3 with Sweden, in their first game at the FIFA Women’s World Cup holding in Canada.

Nigeria went into the break two goals down, after Desire Oparanozie deflected the ball past Precious Dede and Nilla Fischer scored for the Swedes.

Ngozi Okobi and Asisat Oshoala then scored in quick succession to level the scores in Winnipeg, as Edwin Okon’s ladies burst into life in the second half.

Their equaliser lasted just seven minutes, as Linda Sembrant finished up a well constructed move down the left. However, it was Francisca Ordega who had the final word, running onto a sublime through ball from Okobi and sliding it under the keeper.

The Falcons will play Australia in their next Group D match
