Coach of USA’s U-17 team, Richie Williams, has expressed his disappointment after they lost 2-0 to Nigeria in their FIFA U-17 World Cup opener, but admits they faced a better team.

Chukwudi Agor and Victor Osimhen scored for the Golden Eaglets, as they clinched all three points at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, Santiago De Chile.

“We are obviously disappointed because of the outcome,” Willams said.

“We played a good first half, we were balanced, solid and we even created some chance that we were not able to convert.

“Nigeria scored two quick goals, but thank to unfortunate errors on our side. We were hoping to be more effective, but we lost against a good Nigerian team”, he added.
