FIFA to investigate Pogba’s world-record transfer to Manchester United

FIFA is set to open investigations into Paul Pogba’s world-record transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.

The France midfielder cost United £89million last summer.

It is not yet known what the world football governing body is investigating.

“We don’t comment on contracts. FIFA had the documents since the transfer in August,” a United spokesman said.

A FIFA spokesperson told Omnisport: “We can confirm that FIFA TMS [Transfer Matching System] has been requesting information on this matter.

“We have no further comment at this stage.”

It was revealed earlier this week by a new book published in Germany, ‘Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football’, that Pogba earns a modest £165,588-a-week, although there are substantial incentives included in his contract.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, meanwhile, will reportedly pocket over £41million from his client’s move to Manchester United.

Raiola’s earnings are said to be £41.39m – netting £23m from the transfer fee. The superagent, who also brokered Ibrahimovic’s move to United, will also pocket over £16m in future payments during Pogba’s United stay.
