FIFA releases Nigeria’s latest ranking in world football to end 2018 [Full list]

Nigeria’s Super Eagles ended the year 2018 maintaining their 44th position in the latest FIFA/Coca Cola World Rankings, NAN reports.

The latest ranking was released on Thursday on the website of the world football governing body.

Nigeria also retained their fourth position in Africa.

The three times African champions also did not add to their 1,427 points amassed last month due to their inactivity and will hope to improve on their position when the next FIFA World Ranking is released in February.

Senegal also retained top spot in Africa with Tunisia, Morocco, Nigeria and DR Congo completing the top five team in the continent.

Belgium remain top in the latest FIFA World Ranking with France (2nd, unchanged), Brazil (3rd, unchanged), Croatia and England.

The month’s biggest movers are Guyana (177th, up 3) whose CONCACAF Nations League qualifier draw against Barbados (162nd, down 3) in September was recently reclassified as a forfeit win due to the Barbadians fielding two ineligible players.

But there are also modest rises for the likes of Zimbabwe (114th, up 1), Sierra Leone (115th, up 1), Kazakhstan (119th, up 1), Guinea-Bissau (120th, up 1), Indonesia (159th, up 1), Belize (160th, up 1) and Nepal (161st, up 1.)

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 7 February, 2019.
