FIFA picks Egyptian referee for Zambia vs Nigeria 2018 World Cup qualifier


World football governing body, FIFA, has picked Egyptian referee, Ghead Grisha to officiate the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Chipolopolo of Zambia and the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Ndola on Sunday, 9th October 2016.

To join the 40-year-old Grisha, who has been serving as a FIFA referee since 2008 are fellow Egyptians, Tahssen Abo El Sadat Bedyer as first assistant; Ahmed Hossameldin Taha, second assistant; and Ibrahim Noureldin as the Fourth Official.

While Cote d’lvoire’s renown former FIFA referee Zeli Sinko will serve as referee assessor, former Ghana FA president Mahamadu Nuru Deen Jawula will commission the match.

The Nigerian side will take on Zambia in a match scheduled to kick off at the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium in Ndola at 2.30pm Zambia time and 1.30pm Nigeria time on Sunday, 9th October.

The last time Grisha handled Zambia versus Nigeria was during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations group phase clash at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, which ended 1-1.
