A staff of the Federal Health International (FHI) on Tuesday evening  slumped and died while playing football at a tournament organised by the Federation of International Development Agencies(FIDA) in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

FIDA includes organisations such as the United Nations, USAID, World Health Organisation, British Council among others.

The soccer tournament was organised in honour of those who died, when a suicide bomber hit the UN building in Abuja last year August.

The deceased was on the staff team of FHI that was playing against staff of the United Nations.

Sources say the man suddenly fell and was gasping. This caused a commotion as his colleagues hurried to where he was lying.

However, efforts to revive him were unsucessful medical as he died at the hospital he was rushed to.

In the meantime, FIDA is yet to make an official statement on the incident.
