The Federal Government has promised that there will be more funds for health programmes in 2015.
The Supervising Minister of Health, Dr Halliru Alhassan, made the pledge in Sokoto on Tuesday at a news conference.
He said “there will be more money in the current year for all the key and sundry health programmes.
“We are indeed looking for a bright 2015 as far as the health sector is concerned and the Federal Government will not renege on this.”
Alhassan said that this would be made possible with the recent assent given to the National Health Bill by President Goodluck Jonathan.
“This will ensure more funding for agencies like the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency and the National Health Insurance Scheme.
“This will also translate into the provision of adequate and efficient healthcare services to Nigerians by the Federal Government,” he said.
The minister said that Jonathan and his team were committed to collectively providing the best for Nigerians in all the sectors of the economy.
