FG declares Thursday public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Thursday, October 1 as public holiday.

The declaration is to enable Nigerians mark the nation’s 55 Independence celebration

The announcement was made by the Director of Press, Ministry of Interior, Yusuf Isiaka on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Magaji, in a press statement on Monday.

Magaji congratulated all Nigerians and thanked them for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.

The Permanent Secretary also appealed to Nigerians to pray for peace and unity in the country during this period.
