Unconfirmed reports reaching DailyPost revealed that the Federal Government of Nigeria and the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, held a secret meeting in Senegal a few weeks ago in order to stop the terrorism onslaught against the country.

DailyPost gathered that government officials from Mali and Senegal played significant roles in the peace talks serving as mediators during the negotiations.

It was also learnt that the Federal Government delegate to the meeting was led by Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe while some senior Boko Haram commanders stood in for the sect.

A reliable source in government, who pleaded not to be named because of the sensitive nature of the matter revealed that the leaders of the sect insisted that a ceasefire was only possible if their terms were met.

Their demands includes the release of their detained members, the payment of compensation and the rebuilding of their houses and mosques demolished by government.
