Renowned lawyer and social critic, Festus Keyamo, has lampooned the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over the payslips they released on Monday and Tuesday.
Dogara had followed the challenge by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, daring members of the National Assembly to make public their remuneration and subsequently released his pay slips.
However, Keyamo while commenting on the issue described the development as the latest comedy at the Cinemas, stressing that it was ridiculous to claim that some politicians only earn N300, 000 after having spent billions of Naira to contest for a political office.
The lawyer wrote on his Twitter page: “The latest comedy showing at Cinemas is some guys showing their 300k-a-month payslips, but spent billions to get the job! Tickets available.”
It could be recalled that El-Rufai first released details of the state’s expenditure, as well as security votes in response to Dogara’s call on Governors to release their expenditure.
