Many faithfuls of the annual Felabration concert were starved of performances from Femi and Seun Kuti, scions of the Abamieda, as Fela was referred to, in 2011.
Their absence was due to tours the duo were involved in last year during the high profile concert held at the Shrine. In 2012, fans of Afro Beats music would again have the best performances from Femi and Seun.
At a press conference held yesterday at the Shrine, the organisers of the event announced programmes lined up for this year’s concert. The event is tagged ‘Africa, Centre of the World‘.
On October 9, 2012, there would be a secondary school debate on the topic, ‘Social Media in Africa; Good or Bad’ at the Freedom Park, Lagos.
On Fela’s birthday, October 15, 2012 there would be a symposium on ‘Corruption and the Generation Next’. Wole Soyinka, Donald Duke, Ben murray Bruce, Femi Falana and others are guest outlined for the symposium.
The main event’s concert would hold from Tuesday, October 16 to Sunday, October 22, 2012. A lot of music artistes and performers have been pencilled to put life into the event.
Felabration celebrates the life and time of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. He was an Afro Beats legend and a human rights activists.
