The Federal Government has expressed satisfaction with the state of federal road projects executed by the Oyo State Government, assuring the state of adequate reimbursement.

The Minister of Transportation, who is also the Coordinator for the Committee for reimbursement of federal projects executed by states in the South-West, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, gave the assurance today while inspecting some federal projects executed by Oyo State Government.

The minister, who inspected the projects in company of the Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, was also at the Agodi Gardens.

The delegation had earlier inspected the newly-dualised New Garage/Odo Oba Elewe/Apata road; Azeez Arisekola road; Molete/Oke Ado/Queens Cinema road and Mokola/Sango/Ojoo road, which were federal roads constructed by the state.

The minister said the Committee on reimbursement of funds spent on projects by states, headed by the Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Raji Fashola, was satisfied with the quality of work done on the inspected projects.

Amaechi said, “I am impressed. I am satisfied with the projects despite the fact that the state government suffered paucity of funds.”

The minister disclosed that other federal projects spread across the state will also be inspected by a team of federal engineers, adding that the report submitted by the engineers would receive adequate attention of the FG, with a view to reimbursing the state.

Welcoming the minister, the governor said that he was hopeful that the FG would, in the earliest possible time, reimburse the state so that other developmental projects lined up for the benefit of the people of the state would get the required attention.

Ajimobi said, “The Federal government that we have now is a government of change. Change for the better; change for improvement. And what you are seeing around now is the change that we require. “We do hope that the federal government will quickly reimburse us to complement our efforts, so that our people will benefit from the change policy.”
