Federal government will tackle challenges in health sector – Minister

The Federal Government says it is making proactive efforts to resolve challenges in the health sector.

The Minister of Health, Dr Khaliru Alhassan, announced this when he inaugurated Berith Specialist Hospital in Suleja.

Represented by Dr David Atura, the Director of Hospital Services, Federal Ministry of Health, the minister said that every Nigerians must enjoy quality health services irrespective of their income level.

He promised that the ministry would invest in health sector in terms of relevant modern equipment and appropriate medical personnel to guarantee affordable quality healthcare.

In his response, Dr Dominic Okechukwu, the Medical Director of the hospital, appreciated the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health at supporting private sector to participate in the provision of healthcare facilities.

“I want to appreciate the Federal Ministry of Health which technical support and private sector-driven health policy provided the requisite fulcrum for the project,’’ he said.

He said that the hospital is 30-bed with accident and emergency room, laboratory and theatre well equipped for effective service delivery. NAN
