Federal cabinet commiserates with President Jonathan

Vice-President, Namadi Sambo Wednesday led members of the Federal Executive Council to commiserate with President Goodluck Jonathan and his family over the death of his brother, Meni Jonathan.

Sambo was received at the President’s residence in State House, Abuja by the First Lady Patience Jonathan and the President’s mother, Eunice.

Sambo in an emotional laden voice said: “It is a sad event; we felt it; this is a journey that all of us will embark on someday; to God we come, to God we’ll return. We are here to commiserate, condolences and pray for the soul of our brother and that Almighty God will fill the vacuum created by the deceased. Please accept our condolences.”

While thanking the sympathisers for their show of concern, Mrs Jonathan said, “It’s quite sad that we lost my husband’s younger

brother at his tender age.”

“He was not old, this is the time the family needs him most but we cannot question God; He knows best and knows why He took him at this time.”

The delegation included the Ministers of the Federal Capital Territory,– Sen. Bala Mohammed;Education – Prof. Rukayatu Rufai; Works – Mike Onolememen; Aviation –Stella Oduah.
