The Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday reviewed upward the contract for road project in Enugu State.
The Minister of Power Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola briefed State House correspondents at the end of FEC meeting chaired by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja
According to Fashola, the project which was initially awarded at the cost of N10.3 billion in 2012 was to serve six different communities.
The project was initiated by the previous administration, but was not funded, neither was provisions made for erosion control.
Giving reasons for the increase, he said, that there is also need to provide for erosion control, adding that “the project suffered failed implementation due to lack of funding.”
