There is an ongoing crisis between two neighbouring towns, Oye and Ilupeju Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Report says the crisis is as a result over an aged-long land dispute.
Available report shows that several persons have sustained high degree of injuries from the crisis.
The prolonged dispute resulted into serious crisis on Saturday as youths of the two communities reportedly used dangerous weapons against one another, with some casualties reportedly taken to hospitals.
Despite that some arrests have already been made on both sides of the towns involved, report has, however, claimed that there is fear and tension in both towns.
Some eyewitnesses have claimed that the Saturday’s clash started after some commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada riders in both communities disagreed over payment of dues and right to ply some routes.
Following the clash, traffic on the Ifaki-Oye-Ikole-Omuo Highway was disrupted.
Eyewitness revealed that vehicles coming from Lagos, Kwara, Osun and heading for Kogi and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were forced to turn back.
According to a Thisday report, efforts to get an official reaction from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Alberto Adeyemi, were not successful as at press time.
