FCTA graduates 227 vocational trainees

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has graduated 227 youths who had undergone training on different vocational skills.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, while presenting certificates to the trainees in Abuja yesterday, disclosed that the project was sponsored by the FCT Subsidy Reinvestment Empowerment Programme (SURE-P).

Represented at the occasion by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John Chukwu, the Minister said that one of the major challenges Nigeria faces today was unemployment resulting from lack of requisite skills for the job market.

“The participants are today better positioned to contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation. I therefore like to exhort the graduand to justify the investment of the government in their lives by imbibing the virtues of hard work, diligence and creativity,” he said.

He maintained that the SURE-P Capacity Building Programme has created opportunities to stimulate and engage FCT Youths, obtain knowledge and skills they need to positively improve their lives and the lot of their communities.
