The Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory Administration, John Chukwu, has commiserated with the victims of the Friday bomb blasts, particularly those who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate and barbaric incident.
Chukwu condemned the bomb blasts in Kuje, and Nyanya, two satellite towns of Abuja, that claimed many lives.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, the FCT Deputy Director, Press, Mohammed Sule, said the permanent secretary also sympathised with the injured, appealing to residents to be more vigilant and report any suspicious persons or movement to the law enforcement agents.
He described the reckless destruction of lives and property as heartless and an act of wickedness on soft targets, which has no place in the nation’s history and tradition.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons and assured that the FCT Administration would continue to work closely with the security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property of all the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
DAILY POST recalls that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Press Officer, Ezekiel Manzo, said the agency had evacuated dead bodies and the injured to hospitals. He confirmed that 15 people lost their lives in the blasts, while several others got injured.
In the same vein, the FCT Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, who confirmed the twin blasts in Kuje and Nyanya, also condemned the unfortunate act.
