Students of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo on Monday went on rampage, destroying some property while protesting the death of two of their colleagues who died due to alleged “poor medical facility” on the campus.
DAILY POST gathered that problem started a week ago when a student of the institution died in the health facility.
It was, however, learnt that the last straw that broke the camel’s back was the sudden death of another student on Monday which the students termed as unjust and unfortunate. The development pushed them to converged on the campus to “protest the ‘deaths’ of their colleagues.
Though it has not been confirmed yet whether the decease died in the institution’s health facility, sources informed journalists that property worth several millions of Naira were vandalized during the protest.
Among facilities torched by the angry students were the health centre, students’ Affairs office, vehicles and a bakery.
All efforts to get reaction from the management of the institution on what led to the unrest and actions taken have proved abortive.
