Fayose reacts to FG’s ceasefire talks with Boko Haram

The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to a statement credited to Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, that the Federal Government has been in a long ceasefire talk with the Boko Haram insurgents.

Mohammed had while addressing reporters in Lagos yesterday, disclosed that the government has been in a long ceasefire talk with members of the Boko Haram sect.

He explained that the talk had helped the government secure the release of police officers’ wives, University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID, lecturers and Dapchi girls.

Reacting, the Ekiti governor wondered why the government is discussing ceasefire with the Islamic sect they claim to have defeated.

Posting on Twitter, he said, ”How can you discuss ceasefire with the same Boko Haram you claimed to have defeated and decimated?

”Someone is obviously lying to Nigerians”.
