Fashola rewards policewoman who fought off robbers

One sergeant Mercy John has been commended by the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola for her bravery in confronting two robbers who tried to rob her of her belongings at Egbeda Shasha by Tawakalitu close, Orisumibara road in Lagos.

It would be recalled that the sergeant who was attacked by the robbers bravely disarmed in a duel seizing their locally made pistol and two live cartridges.

The Cross River born Police officer was recognized at a ceremony which was held at the Lagos House, ikeja. The State Governor urged her not to relent in her work in protecting lives and property in the State and beyond.

Here’s the Governor’s word;

“Let me say very clearly that I value the work that you do, people of Lagos value what you do and whereever you come from, this is your home and I think it is right to say that it was because you take this as home, you did the right thing, you took two robbers out of commission so that the people of Lagos can sleep well’’ he said.
