Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has condemned remark credited to President Muhammadu Buhari that the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu was losing weight over the rate of insecurity in the country.
Upon his return from the United Kingdom, UK, over the weekend, Buhari was asked if a different approach would be employed to combat insurgents.
Responding, the President said Adamu’s weight loss was a proof that he was working hard.
The President had said, “You know, I have just seen the IG, he is… I think he is losing weight; so, I think he is working hard.”
However, Fani-Kayode rubbished the remark, stressing that insecurity was at its peak in the country.
In a tweet, the former Minister wrote: “The IG of Police must be working very hard because he has lost weight”- @MBuhari
“This said at a time when law and order has broken down all over the north and thousands of innocent Nigerians are being butchered by ISWA, Fulani terrorists and Boko Haram every day. God help us!”
