Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned Boko Haram attack on an Internally Displaced People (IDPs) camp in Rann, Borno state.
“Last night Rann in Borno state was attacked by Boko Haram. Many in the IDP camp that is located there were slaughtered and the military base was attacked and overun.
“This is the same community where 200 internally-displaced people were bombed to death by our Air force last year,” Fani-Kayode tweeted on Friday morning.
Many persons were feared killed Thursday night, after Boko Haram insurgents launched a late evening attack on Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge local government area of Borno State.
Residents of Rann, who are at the IDP camps told newsmen on Friday, that the attack on Thursday night at the military location in Rann left many casualties on the side of the Nigerian military. According to them, the military officials at the camp in Rann seemed to be demoralized with the recent attack as officers were seen discussing the unfortunate incident.
