The Economic Financial and Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday invaded the residence of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen.
This was disclosed by former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on his Twitter page.
Fani-Kayode asked President Muhammadu Buhari to call off EFCC from Onnoghen’s residence.
He wrote: “Why have the EFCC surrounded the home of CJN Onnoghen and why are they seeking to arrest him?
“These people want Nigeria to burn! Buhari call off your dogs before it is too late!
“This is a democracy and not a gestapo state! In the name of God let this madness stop.”
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday reportedly issued an order to Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen To immediately vacate his office.
The CJN’s trail at the Danladi Umar-led Code of Conduct Tribunal was expected to commence on Monday in Abuja on charges of failures to declare his assets as required by law and for operating Bank Domiciliary Foreign Currency Accounts but the senior judge refused to appear in court.
