Family of man stabbed to death by wife lament as foster father dies from shock

The foster father of late Oyelowo Ajanaku, the man who was stabbed to death by his 28-year-old wife, Yewande in Ibadan last week Tuesday, is dead.

This came after 89-year-old Ajanaku developed some health issues on hearing that his nephew, Oyelowo, had been allegedly murdered by his wife.

It would be recalled that the France-based businessman, Lowo, as he was fondly called, was stabbed by his wife on February 2, at about 6.10 a.m. at their home on 30, Abidi Odan Street, Akobo, Ibadan. The couple got married in February, 2013.

Subsequently, she was remanded at Agodi Prison by Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, of an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution in the state.

The accused, who is a member of staff of Ministry of Justice, Oyo state, was alleged to have stabbed her husband to death over claims that he fathered a son out of wedlock.

The family of Lowo, were however, thrown into fresh mourning on Monday as the foster father of the deceased reportedly died of shock, The Punch reports.

The foster father was said to have died of complications related to high blood pressure on Monday at Gbongan, in the Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.

The late octogenarian, according to reports, took up the responsibility of raising Lowo following the death of his biological father in 1990.

The news of the death of the France-based businessman was said to have been kept away from his mother for the fear that she might also die of shock.

Confirming the death of the octogenarian, Mr. Ajanaku Adelani, an elder brother of Lowo, said “The shock was too much for him to bear.

“He became sick after the incident and he eventually died this morning,” Adelani said.
