Former coach of the Nigeria’s senior women team, Edwin Okon, has claimed that they have been drawn in an easy group, for the upcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The draw ceremony took place on Sunday, at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports in Yaounde .
The Falcons, who are the current defending champions, will take on Ghana, Mali and Kenya in Group B.
Okon insists the nine-nine African champions should not have any serious challenge qualifying for the next round.
“The truth is that the group is simple, it’s an easy group if we get our act right, we will be having the easiest qualification from the group,” he told SuperSport.
“Our worry should not be on the old rivals, Ghana but the other West African foes, Mali.
“Although there is no pushover in the round leather game but there exist pushovers, too.
“We should be highly excited seeing ourselves in the group at the upcoming AWCON in Cameroon.
“If we work very hard we should be able to defend the title successfully.”
In Group A, there is hosts Cameroon, South Africa, Egypt and Zimbabwe.
The competition kicks off November 19.
