“Falcao is one of the best strikers in world football” – Roberto Di Matteo

Chelsea manager, Roberto Di Matteo, has dropped a hint that he might sign Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid in January. The only recognised strikers at Stamford Bridge, are Fernando Torres, who has lost form and an ineffective Daniel Sturridge.

It has been widely reported that the Blues will make a massive £48.1 million (€60m) move in the winter window, but the 42-year-old was coy, also stating his admiration for the Colombian forward.

“If you ask any manager, he would have him in his team,” he told reporters. “He is one of the best strikers, probably, in European and world football.

“His ratio of goals per game is quite impressive, not just this season but over the last three seasons, at Porto and Atletico Madrid.”

Di Matteo will seek to reinforce his squad, especially with the Nigerian duo of John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses, are likely to be away at the African Nations Cup.
