The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Chief Olu Falae, has given reasons the party was revived. Some of the main reasons, he said include the failings of the two dominant parties in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and All Progressives Congress, APC and the need to promote the ideals of democracy.
Chief Falae disclosed this at the Palace of the Otaru of Auchi, Auchi, Edo State, when he paid the Monarch a courtesy visit as part of a campaign tour of Edo North Senatorial District.
According to Falae, the errors made by both parties have become the gains of the SDP as the welfare of the people remains its focal point.
He said: “We decided to revive the SDP when we noticed that other political parties were not giving the people the ideals of democracy. I have never been found wanting in all the offices I had held either as a Managing Director of a bank, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Minister and others.”
