FA Cup: What I told Higuain before penalty in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday – Wil

Chelsea winger, Willian has disclosed that he offered fellow teammate, Gonzalo Higuain the chance to take Chelsea’s penalty against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup but the Argentine international declined.

Willian stated this following Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Goals from Willian (2) and Callum Hudson-Odoi Jesse (1) ensured Maurizio Sarri’s men dumped Sheffield Wednesday out from the competition.

Asked if Higuain had asked for the ball during the exchange, Willian told Chelsea TV: “No I want to give him the ball.” And he said you take it?

“Yes, I wanted him to score the first goal today. But it will come soon.”

Willian added: “We have a great relationship, we know each other inside the pitch.

“We know the quality of the players we have in front, a lot of quality players, technical players so it’s great when you have players like Higuain, Hudson-Odoi, Pedro, Hazard, Giroud. It’s good for Chelsea.”

Chelsea will tackle Bournemouth on Wednesday in the Premier League fixture.
