Manchester United interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said that the key to defeating Chelsea, was his instruction for Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera to get into the box and attack.
Both midfielders scored, as United eliminated the Blues from the FA Cup, with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
“The tactics worked, we asked our midfielders Paul and Ander to get into the box and attack.
“Chelsea are a good team but defensively we did a fantastic job, Juan did a fantastic job. With the ball we could have done better but defensively fantastic.
“It’s a massive result, obviously we’ve had some criticism after PSG where we didn’t create a lot, but every single player did exactly what we asked of them,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the game.
United host Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, while they will travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.
“Next game now is Liverpool and we just have to focus on that one.
“Wolves away, we have to do it the hard way, they’re a very tough team to play against,” the Norwegian added.
