Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has revealed what the club’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward told him in a text message before the FA Cup 2-1 win over Tottenham.
Mourinho said Ed Woodward predicted his side’s 2-1 win against Tottenham at Wembley.
Mourinho’s man booked their place in the FA Cup final after goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera cancelled out Dele Alli’s opener.
Mourinho told the BBC, “I had this morning one simple SMS (text message) from one of my bosses, Ed Woodward.
“He was saying that ‘I believe we are going to win but if we don’t, the season is a good season, a season where everyone is professional and everyone is bringing the club in the right direction’. That’s my feeling too.
“We can close the season in a final and that’s a good achievement. But we need to focus on our six points and we deserve to finish second.”
United now await Sunday’s other semi-final between Southampton and Chelsea to see who they will face in May’s showpiece.
