FA Cup: Manchester City deserve to be at Wembley – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said his team deserved to play in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, after a comfortable 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Guardiola named a very strong side for the match at the Riverside and goals from David Silva and Sergio Aguero, ensured that they progressed into the last four.

“We are delighted, first of all to be in Wembley in the semifinals,” he told a news conference.

“We deserve it by far because we’ve had four games all away against three teams from the Premier League and one of the best in the Championship, Huddersfield.

“From the beginning we showed to the people that we want to travel to London to Wembley for the semifinal because how we started was top.

“I have good memories of the old stadium and the new one. We are so happy to be there.”

Guardiola will now turn his attention to other competitions with the second leg clash of their Champions League tie with Monaco in four days, followed by a Premier League fixture against Liverpool.
